Virtual healthcare or telehealth on a platform like microsoft teams or zoom grew from about 1% pre-pandemic to about 70% during and after the pandemic.

Patients and their psychiatrists were amazed by the ease of use and by how the platform made the services more available.

But as of today, we have learned that psychiatrists can not bill the province for any virtual or telehealth services unless the patient is first seen in person.

I wonder what patients are going to do now that access might have been restricted for thousands of patients who are unable to climb the stairs or are immunocompromised and can’t be in public.
