Who owns the healthcare system? We do. Us regular folks own the healthcare system.
Who pays for the healthcare system? We do. Us regular folks pay all the bills.
So if we own the healthcare system and pay all the bills, then when and how do we get to express our viewpoints?
Do, we the regular folks, have agency? Do we have any power? Can we make our views known.
The answer is No Way, Jose. All 39,000,000 regular folks in Canada can say nothing about how our healthcare system operates.
A big change is happening with shareholder democracy.
We, the regular folks, save and invest money by purchasing funds from big fund companies like Blackrock, Vanguard and Fidelity.
These big companies, as third parties, have all the power in communicating their viewpoints to the managers of companies whose stock they have bought.
The change is called shareholder democracy. These big companies are allowing us, regular folks. to have our say.
This is called shareholder democracy. That is a good thing. We will be able to tell these companies who stock we own what we think.
Maybe the same rights should be afforded to the owners and funders of the healthcare system.
