A group of psychiatrists from a prominent medical school have organized a course to assist healthcare leaders in managing burnout.

Nice attempt at fixing burnout. But it won’t work.

A program of self-care is a very simplistic approach to fixing burnout.

The workplace culture in healthcare is toxic. It sucks the energy out of anyone working in healthcare.

Unless you are isolated in the OR or locked into your research lab.

When patient contact is part of the job, workplace culture is destructive.

So if the psychiatrists asked the oracle what to focus on to fix burnout, then it would be the fragmented chaotic care system and industry.

The system needs a major restructuring and cultural re-alignment and that is the only way to really fix burnout.
